Dr. Bob Beare

Psychotherapist, coach, author, and teacher — PhD, LPC-S

Dr. Bob Beare, psychotherapist and coach

I hold a PhD in leadership development and a master's in clinical psychology, and I've held many executive roles across the healthcare industry. For 25+ years I've helped people transform depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, career problems, and addictions.

My work is active, not passive: psychodynamic coaching/therapy with a Jungian orientation, expressive arts, imago work for couples, action methods for groups, and mindfulness. I also train facilitators to use these techniques with their own clients.

Underneath all of it is one idea — most of what keeps grown-ups stuck was learned young. Heal the roots and the surface takes care of itself. I'm a teacher, artist, dad, and recovering human, and I do this work because it gave me my own life back.

Endorsements

“Bob’s books and programs offer the tools to gain awareness of the ways we may be unconsciously dulling our pain and keeping us trapped in cycles of trauma and dependency… practical ways to uncover and release our own unresolved trauma.”

Dr. Nicole LePera, author of How to Do the Work

“Bob reminds us of that creative, imaginative soul which lay so palpably close to us as children… He provides guidance to recover that playful, healing energy, that desire for the fire of life, which lies within us still.”

James Hollis, PhD, Jungian analyst and author

Research

My doctoral dissertation, Leadership and Vulnerability, examined what happens when leaders stop performing invulnerability — the same principle that runs through all of my clinical and coaching work.
